Dental floss

Also called: floss · waxed floss · mint floss · flavored floss · dental tape · interdental floss · floss pick · flosser

Dog

Dangerous

Described signs

Drooling, retching and swallowing over and over with nothing there, pawing at the mouth, repeated vomiting that does not let up, refusing to eat, low energy, belly pain with a hunched posture, a tense belly and straining to poop with no result. Sometimes an end of the floss shows in the mouth, under the tongue or at the anus: do not pull on it. In a small dog a short piece is enough to block what a big dog would pass.

Repeated vomiting, especially after eating or drinking, refusing food, drooling, swallowing with nothing there, hiding or not settling anywhere, low energy, pain when you touch the belly, dehydration and losing weight fast. The end of the floss can be caught under the tongue where you cannot see it; if floss shows in the mouth or at the anus, do not pull on it.
