Diaper

Dog

Dangerous

Described signs

Repeated vomiting that does not let up and keeps them from holding down even water, no appetite, low energy, belly pain, a tense belly, diarrhoea at first and then little or no stool, straining to poop with no result and dehydration. Sometimes bits of cotton, plastic or gel show up in the vomit or the stool. The smaller the dog, the less it takes to block the gut.

Cat

Dangerous

Described signs

Repeated vomiting that does not let up, refusing food, low energy, hiding, pain when you touch the belly, straining to poop with no result, little or no stool and dehydration. A cat's gut is far narrower than a dog's: a small piece is already enough to block it.
