Substances and their sources

Isopropyl alcohol

Also called: isopropanol · surgical spirit · isopropyl rubbing alcohol · alcohol wipes

Dog

Dangerous

Described signs

vomiting and diarrhea, staggering, disorientation and low energy, tremors and laboured breathing, usually within the first 30 to 60 minutes; in severe cases body temperature drops and there are seizures, depressed breathing and coma. They do not have to drink any of it: alcohol is absorbed through the skin, and over-spraying the animal with an alcohol-based flea spray, or rubbing it on, is enough on its own
